I got the Rise of the Governor on audiobook the other day. I have to say I had a blast listening to it. It’s a novel written by Robert Kirkman and Jay Bonansinga. I wonder how much was actually written by Kirkman?
Anyways it doesn’t really matter because it was good, maybe not good like Gone With the Wind but good like the comic. The story chronicles the as the title says the rise of the governor. If you have read the comic you know who this Character is. If you have only watched the show, he will probably be in season 3.
The story takes place nested right in the world of the comic and there are a couple points were the comic and novel intersect. It basically chronicles a group similar to Rick’s group surviving the same events, at the same time, with slightly different locations.
If you like the comic and the show you will most likely like this novel so check it out if you get a chance.
